About the team:

• The Search Team at Getty Images is responsible for building the search technology that empowers our customers to move the world with images. To meet the ever-changing needs of our customers, we explore, develop, and deploy new AI/ML technologies, visual search algorithms, computer vision models, and new ranking techniques at scale.

• Build scalable software solutions that delight our customers
• Form strong cross-functional relationships with engineering teams
• Maintain focus on reliability, resiliency, and security 

What we are looking for:

• Experience building and operating complex distributed systems at scale 
• Empathy for users and their business goals 
• Proven experience building and leading software engineering teams with a focus on inclusion and diversity 
• Tenacity and the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple cross-functional stakeholders 
• Orientation towards long-term impact as the yardstick for prioritization, but able to strike the right balance between short-term goals and longer-term vision 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience developing with ML Libraries (Such as Onnx, TensorFlow, Bert) 
• Well versed in C#, Java, or other object-oriented languages 
• Working knowledge of search algorithms and their practical applications. 
• Hands-on experience with AWS Technologies (Such as Dynamo, ECS, EC2, S3) 
• Experience with containers and container schedulers (Docker, ECS) 

Nice to have:

• Familiarity working with: Solr, Lucene, Spark and Kafka
• Knowledge or experience with FAISS, vector search, or NLP 
• Understanding and utilization of scripting languages such as Bash, Python and Ruby 
• Experience with CI/CD and Gitlab 
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus 

$170,000 - $200,000 a year

 

The starting salary range for this position at time of posting is USD $170,000-200,000 per annum. Getty Images has different ranges in different locations within the US, and this range represents the starting base pay range. Actual compensation will depend on factors including but not limited to: qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, certification, business needs, performance, and level of responsibility along with the requirements of the position. The company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any point in the future. Getty Images is committed to the health and well-being of its employees and benefits for full-time permanent employees may include participation in the company incentive program, equity, and benefits package which is inclusive of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid company holidays and time off, and paid parental leave. We provide Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance for you and your family. We partner with Meritain (An Aetna Company), and CVS Caremark to provide you with two options for medical coverage - a POS plan and an HSA-qualified (Health Savings Account) Plan. The POS plan comes with a $200 per year Getty Images contribution to an FSA account. If you enroll in the HSA plan, Getty Images will give you $1400-$2400 per year to spend on any qualified health expenses. Dental insurance is available through Delta Dental. Vision Insurance is available through VSP. All full-time employees working at least 25 hours per week will become eligible for health benefits the 1st of the month following their date of hire. We provide flexible time off and 10 sick days each calendar year. Additionally, we pay 4 weeks of fully-paid Parental Leave for new parents, with primary caregivers eligible for an additional 8 weeks of fully-paid leave.
