1Password is searching for an Applied Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to join our Data Engineering team, supporting our data reliability function. In this role you will build algorithms that detect issues impacting data quality in our transactional or reporting systems, and improve our ability to isolate the root cause of reporting errors.
As a strategic thinker, you will thrive on tackling complexities and driving meaningful solutions. Your role will involve setting up ML infrastructure and applying ML to solve critical business problems. While ensuring data quality is paramount, you will also have the opportunity to explore and overcome a wide range of additional obstacles.

This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelors or Higher Education in Computer Science, Statistics or related fields.
- Excellent understanding of ML techniques, including classification, regression, outlier detection
- 3+ years of SQL data modeling experience
- 3+ years of experience with Python and its data ecosystem (numpy, pandas, sklearn, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and challenges
- Experience with AWS data technologies
You might also have (not required):
- Prior experience as a data engineer preferred
- 2+ years of experience with Great Expectations
What you can expect:
- Develop supervised unsupervised ML algorithms to detect data quality issues & detecting upstream changes
- Identify critical paths and classify various business edge cases
- Develop supervised ML algorithms to monitor key stages within the data transformation pipeline
- Define Data Quality Statistics to monitor Key Metrics
- Perform statistical root cause analysis to identify clusters of bad data
- Deploy and monitor ML models in production
- Perform ad hoc statistical and business analysis to identify where ML can optimize processes
United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $143,000USD and $193,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package.
