Plus is a global provider of highly automated driving and fully autonomous driving solutions with headquarters in Silicon Valley, California. Named by Forbes as one of America’s Best Startup Employers and Fast Company as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies, Plus’s open autonomy technology platform is already powering vehicles in commercial use today. Working with one of the largest companies in the U.S., vehicle manufacturers, and others globally, Plus is helping to make driving safer, more comfortable, and more sustainable. Plus has received a number of industry awards and distinctions for its transformative technology and business momentum from Fast CompanyForbesInsiderConsumer Electronics ShowAUVSI, and others. If you’re ready to make a huge impact and drive the future of autonomy, Plus is looking for talented individuals to join its fast-growing teams.

Responsibilities

    • Provide hardware and software support on PlusAI’s full-stack, self-driving technology for large-scale, autonomous commercial fleets. Perform research and contribute to how the PlusAI autonomous system achieves higher levels of autonomy through machine learning engineering, specifically in perception.
    • Responsible for supporting the company in designing and building end-to-end systems, algorithms, and software for constructing autonomous vehicles.
    • Utilize knowledge of commonly used computer vision, machine learning, deep learning frameworks and libraries (Tensorflow, PyTorch), and software development tools to collaborate with teams of different functionalities and integrate various components (perception, planning, control etc.) into a running system.
    • Collaborate with research scientists in the research and design team to integrate new sensors, and implement, evaluate, debug, and deploy fine-tuned, vision-based perception algorithms to prototype vehicles.
    • Research and construct machine learning or deep learning-based models for enabling self-driving vehicles to perceive and understand the surrounding environment.
    • Review and analyze complex system requirements, and translate detailed designs into various computer programming languages, such as C++ and Python.
    • Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques for object-detection, lane-tracking, image segmentation, and other computer vision tasks to build fast, accurate, and reliable systems for enabling tracking and control in autonomous vehicles. Review and resolve technical issues, and improve the performance and latency of the camera, LiDAR, and radar-based perception systems, using knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning principles and methodologies.
    • Research state-of-the-art techniques for model training and optimization, computer vision algorithm development, and writing object-oriented code in C/C++ and Python.
    • Design, develop, and optimize compute unified device architecture (CUDA) code for deployment to graphics processing units (GPU) architecture to manage and improve latency of the end-to-end 3D obstacle detection perception pipeline.
    • Work closely with other engineering teams to resolve a wide range of perception driving scenarios, including requirements across the stack to develop safe vehicle behavior in nominal and challenging scenarios. Use good oral and written communication skills to collaborate and coordinate with other engineers and developers to review progress, and present reports to the head of engineering at major milestones.
