About the role

kea is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. You should be a creative generalist who can take a model from ideation and development all the way to production and optimization. You’ll become the subject matter expert for the voice ordering problem, and come up with new ways to automate parts of the phone call. We have some incredibly interesting data to work with, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with other engineers to refine the source data we collect for models. This role is highly entrepreneurial, and you’ll have substantial autonomy to figure out how to solve the problem. You will work on a cutting-edge AI automation platform, containing a blend of Conversational Design, AI/ML Models, and Restaurant-Industry specific technology

What your day-to-day looks like

• Ideate and investigate potential approaches for automating aspects of voice-based ordering
• Collaborate with other engineers to refine the data you’ll need for models
• Design and implement infrastructure for running the ML lifecycle end-to-end, including data pipelines
• Write high-quality production code as you build robust and scalable machine-learning systems

What sets you up for success

• 5+ years of software engineering, including Machine Learning experience
• Strong understanding of Automated Speech Recognition, machine learning models, data analysis, and supervised learning methods
• End-to-end experience with model design, development, and MLOps
• Proficiency in writing production-quality code in Python and Typescript / Javascript on Node.js
• Experience with Conversational Design
• You enjoy helping to define and solve open-ended problems
