As the Director of Machine Learning, you will be a critical cross functional leader in our business. You will help us define and track key customer metrics, benchmarks, and outcomes as it relates to machine learning. You will help us build, push to production and track the machine learning models and user outcomes.  This highly visible role will work with leaders across the organization (Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Operations, and more) to deliver data-driven insights and inform ongoing strategic decisions. You will also help us scale machine learning throughout the organization with the people science team, data engineers, software engineering, product and product analysts.

How You'll Contribute:

  • This is a hands-on role that expects you to start producing code with a "get it done" attitude and motivate your team to do the same.
  • Analyze in-app user behavior and correlate it with individual productivity and wellbeing results using both analysis and machine learning models.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive machine learning strategy for the organization. Identify opportunities to leverage machine learning to improve products and services, and enhance the user experience.
  • Conduct primary user research, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and work with customers to track key outcomes and return on investment across our product suite and with our customer success team.
  • Manage and expand a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other technical staff. Provide mentorship, training and guidance to develop and support staff.

Must Haves:

  • Proven track record leading machine learning and data science teams in B2B/B2C.
  • Strong understanding of the ethical, legal, and privacy issues associated with machine learning; we play in enterprise data and need someone that understands these constraints.
  • Strong software engineering skills to create scalable and robust infrastructure for deep learning data, modeling, and evaluation systems.
  • Expertise across the entire stack Machine learning stack sandbox to production.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages (such as Python, R) and machine learning frameworks (supervised and unsupervised learning).
  • Knowledge of key metrics and product benchmarks for what is success for machine learning.
  • Experience taking machine learning models from concept, to testing and validation, through  implementation, and post go-live evaluation.
  • Ability to work and interface directly with external Enterprise customers as well as internal executive stakeholders across all functional areas.
  • We would expect someone with 5+ years of experience of management but this isn’t a hard target.

Compensation for this role depends on level, and will likely fall in the $225,00- 260,000 range. We provide a competitive mix of salary, performance bonus, and equity.
